Since I was out of tortillas, I chose to make some delicious fried Chile verde tortillas, because Maseca is a staple pantry item I always have on hand. *Chicken chile verde is a flavorful Mexican stew featuring tender chicken simmered in a vibrant green chili sauce

Ingredients
Oil
1 shredded rotisserie chicken (about 4 cups of chicken)
1/2 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbsp AP flour
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp black pepper
8 green chiles ( if using 4oz Cans use 3)
2 1/2 cups of chicken broth
Small bunch of cilantro, finely chopped
1/2 Tbsp Mexican oregano

Chile verde tortillas ingredients
2 cups Maseca (instant corn masa)
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
2 green chiles, chopped
2 cups of water
Oil for frying
Serve with Mexican rice, beans, a dollop of sour cream, or serve in a bowl with a dollop of sour cream and dip the fried tortillas as if you were eating American-style chili 😋
