The number 108 implies 108-beat cycle, which is an extension of the 36-beat cycle of traditional asymmetrical jangdan (rhythmic pattern) called ‘chilchae’. Singing the names of fish, made up of two to five syllables, are intended to make anyone easily understand a long beat structure. It also adds the meaning of swimming in a long jangdan with the fish that symbolizes a long life. So, please enjoy swimming into this piece following the fish.
