Euros 2024 | Employees Advised NOT To Be Dishonest With Employers

Employees are being advised not to lie to their employers in the run-up to the Euros. It comes after a woman who was dismissed from her job after she was spotted at the 2020 games, celebrating a goal scored by Harry Kane, when she was actually supposed to be at work.

Employment Law Partner, Jo Mackie explains dishonesty in the workplace is looked on very badly by employers. She says: "It is enough to give you something called gross misconduct, which is an instant dismissal."

Talk's Mike Graham thinks previously, employers tried to encourage people not go to the pub to watch games. He says: "They put it on in the office... rather than leaving people to go to the pub and not come back."
