Hiking Mt Kerkis, Samos

Kerkis (Greek: Κέρκης or Κερκετεύς) is the highest mountain on Samos island and the second highest mountain in the East Aegean region 🇬🇷. It is not the most friendly mountain but the view from Vigla Peak is amazing, and from there, you can see Asia Minor, Ikaria, Fournoi, and Chios.

We followed 🔴 Route 10 🔴 (Kakoperato - Zastano peak - Vigla peak - Monument), which I would NOT recommend.
🚩 Ascending from Zoodochos Pigi to Zastano Peak is very, very difficult. This route is not even a proper path, and there are some points where scrambling is required.
🚩 There is absolutely no shade from Zastano Peak to Vigla, so climbing the mountain during summer is definitely not advisable.
🚩We should have ascended the mountain following the descending path of route 10.
🚩 3L of water was not enough and we were lucky to find some water approx. 50m from Profitis Ilias chapel.
