How to save oncidium from root loss & snails - repotting katrin zock

Описание к видео How to save oncidium from root loss & snails - repotting katrin zock

In today's video we are going to attempt to save my new oncidium katrin zock from root loss due to snails and decompozing medium. I had quite a bunch of snails that were eating the new roots, and hydrogen peroxide 3% did its job and killed them. After I carefully removed all the dead roots with a sterilized cutting tool, I placed my orchid in a 12 cm transparent pot, using a mixture of clay pebbles and seramis. I will make sure to always keep the orchid moist and flush the pot at least once a week to make sure there are not bacterias forming in my pot. This can happen when in the pot starts to accumulate bio-loads because of standing water. i prevent that by always provinding to the roots fresh water. Shall see how she is doing in a few weeks :)
