⏰This incredible sandbar beach is a 36 minute drive from Sydney NS.


📶 WARNING: Cell phone service is hit or miss here.


The property is owned by Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources. There are no amenities or facilities here. No lifeguards. The sandbar is 1 kilometer long. At low tide, the water is warm, shallow, and gentle surf - excellent safe beach for young children. 🏊‍♀️ The sand dunes are mature and an amazing habitat. The salt marsh at the back of the sandbar is a habitat for 22 shorebird species 🪶– making this the most significant shorebird area of Cape Breton as stated by David McCorquodale (Professor, Biology at Cape Breton University)
