US VC firm Goodwater Capital raises $1 billion to invest in consumer tech startups  Leading consumer tech investment firm Goodwater Capital announced it has raised $1 billion in new funds to invest in early and growth-stage consumer tech startups. Eric Kim, co-founder and managing partner at Goodwater Capital, said the firm also gets access to an additional $500 million to support late-stage hypergrowth companies. Goodwater Capital was founded seven years ago with a mission to empower exceptional entrepreneurs who are changing the world through consumer technology. Investing in Southeast Asia The Silicon Valley-based VC firm’s portfolio companies cover education for over 250 million people across social and educational platforms, cares for the health of nearly 50 million lives, and helps transport and house over 75 million families. Its portfolio companies include TIER Mobility, Tide, ZeroDown, Toss and Kyash. Goodwater Capital calculates the index by combining key industry data sources including dollars invested, venture capital funds raised, deal volume, MA, and IPOs.
