Walking Tour of Sutro Baths in San Francisco

Sutro Baths was built as a large, privately owned public saltwater swimming pool complex. It was opened to the public on March 14, 1896 as the world's largest indoor swimming pool establishment by former mayor of San Francisco Adolph Sutro. The Baths are located near the Cliff House, Seal Rocks, and Sutro Heights Park. A fire destroyed the building in June 1966 while it was in the process of being demolished and now lies in ruins within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
