I've been working towards greening the desert on my off the grid Arizona homestead for over two years now. I have built swales that pull water off my land to prevent flooding and redirect it to a large pond. Recently the pond completely filled leading to more flooding because with a full pond the monsoon rainwater had nowhere to go. In this video I dug an overflow so the pond can be full, and rainwater will still have somewhere to go.
