Video of a tornado siren test in Atlanta,IL on June 2,2015. I was under the anticipation the sirens were going to do Fast Wail as they did in a storm chase video posted in 2010, but the signal seems too slow to be considered Fast Wail. But still, Attack signal is great!

This 2t22 has a blocked intake, thus it's not as loud as it should be. It likely will not be fixed since a 2001 stands close-by to this siren. This 2t22 also has the newer controller on it, so this is an indication the siren isn't going anywhere despite having a blocked intake. Just a few blocks away from here is a FS 2001 SRNB, located at the Atlanta police/EMS station. What a killer sound!

The City of Atlanta,IL is located in far northern Logan County, Illinois about 7 miles north of Lincoln. Siren systems in Logan County are controlled by individual communities; there is no county-wide protocol. Atlanta tests their sirens every first Tuesday of the month at 10 AM sharp. Sirens run 3 minutes of Attack for the monthly test and 3 minutes of Fast Wail for Tornado Warnings. So far, from what I've seen, Atlanta only has two sirens, the 2t22A shown in the video, and a FS 2001 SRNB located 4 blocks down the street at the police station.

I'm hoping to catch additional siren tests in Logan County in the upcoming months ahead! I've captured other siren tests within Logan County in the past, all from the Lincoln area. My 2007 recording of a Lincoln siren test was a 2001 SRN in 3 minutes Attack. I re-recorded that siren in 2009, and at that time Lincoln had switched to 3 minutes of Alert.
