To add tabs in LibreOffice Writer, you can use the following steps:
1. Place the cursor in the paragraph where you want to add tabs, or select multiple paragraphs if you want to apply the same tab settings to them.
2. Choose Format - Paragraph - Tabs tab, or right-click and choose Paragraph - Tabs tab from the context menu.
3. In the Position box, enter the measurement for the tab stop position, or select an existing tab stop from the list. You can also specify the measurement units to use for the tab (cm for centimetre, or " for inches).
4. In the Type section, select the type of tab stop that you want to use. You can choose from Left, Right, Center, Decimal, or Character. The Character option allows you to align text to a specific character, such as a colon or a hyphen.
5. In the Fill Character section, select the character that you want to use as a leader line to fill the space before the tab stop. You can choose from None, Dot, Dash, Line, or Custom. The Custom option allows you to enter any character that you want to use as a fill character.
6. Click New to add the tab stop to the current paragraph or paragraphs. You can repeat steps 3 to 6 to add more tab stops as needed.
7. Click OK to close the dialog and apply the tab settings.

Alternatively, you can also use the horizontal ruler to set and modify tab stops. You can click on the ruler to set a left-justified tab, or right-click on a tab icon to change its type or fill character. You can also drag a tab icon to move or delete it.
