At Newcastle Crown Court, Eland admitted attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming in October 2016 and was sentenced to nine months imprisonment, suspended for two years, with programme and rehabilitation requirements.
He must also sign the sex offenders register and abide by a sexual harm prevention order for ten years.
