In this episode, we sit down with Tyler James Carroll, a multifaceted individual whose journey spans from the military to the literary world. Born into a military family, Tyler's path took a turn when he enlisted after a college attempt didn’t pan out. Serving as a combat medic with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, his experiences led him to pursue an MFA in writing. Alongside his studies, Tyler co-founded Dead Reckoning Collective, an independent publishing company. He’s authored a poetry book and several essays, balancing his time between writing, managing his business, and his roles as a husband, father of four, and a full-time firefighter in Denton County, TX.
