I search the western slope of the east hollow for the elusive bur oak in this video. The bur oak was the predominant tree in the oak savannas that once covered this area, but unfortunately most of the oak savannas are degraded or gone altogether.

I have enough of the old trees in good enough shape to restore, but most are white oak, some are black oak, and several are even black walnut -- but no bur oak found on our land yet... but I did find quite a few of them.
