Very heavy transport escorted by police Tesla

A 356 tonne generator is transported by heavy hauliers along a major trunk road in Suffolk, escorted by police and highways maintenance teams. Traffic is disrupted as a result.

Allelys transported the Siemens Energy generator, weighing 356 tonnes and at 81 metres in length, from the Port of Ipswich to the Eye Synchronous Condenser Plant (read more: https://conradenergy.co.uk/energy-gen...) in Yaxley, Suffolk on Sunday, 18th August.

Suffolk & Norfolk Police Roads & Armed Policing Team (RAPT) escorted the abnormal load from Ipswich to Yaxley. Several police cars and motorcycles closed the A14 eastbound side to allow the wide load to pass on the opposite side of the road, using lights and sirens to warn traffic. A Tesla police vehicle led the escort.

Suffolk County Council, road maintenance teams, and utility companies assisted with the movement of the oversized load. Street furniture had to be moved, a temporary bridge was built and roads closed. Traffic was disrupted as a result.
