Yes, I don't upload this early, but I had to upload this very video on this day, which also happened to be the very day everything in this video aired on TV (albeit 41 years ago). Spend the midday with NBC affiliate KSDK in St. Louis, MO, where we start out with Midday A.M. (already in progress), with a feature on media teacher Betty J. Lee, an interview with local psychologist Dr. Patrica Berne, and some plant watering tips being the very highlights of the program we have here. When that finishes, it is time for the noon newscast, with the top headlines including reaction towards Regan's first address to the house and senate, some tax filing tips, an interview with the owners of an English-themed restaurant, and the GNP growth (slow news day or a station that actually puts thought into what they put into their newscasts (unlike some news programs)? You decide!) When that wraps up, we are treated to the opening scene to Days of Our Lives, followed by commercials for Nature's Remedy and Ken-L Ration, before the tape ends just before the product for the latter's commercial is revealed. Oh, and as you figured, we've left in the commercials (though unfortunately, portions of one of the commercials had to be muted because the folks administering Kenny Rogers' The Gambler song didn't approve of the song being used in the video, even though they had been ok with the song's use in the past. Coincidentally, a 1981 KMOX re-airing of the film it inspired is also on this tape, and its breaks can be found at • CBS - The Gambler Rebroadcast Commercials ... , as well as the newscast it preceded ( • Another Look Back at St. Louis 41 Years Ag... )).
