Setting a Purpose for Reading: Story Map, Pt. 2 | Literacy for Students with Cognitive Disabilities

Описание к видео Setting a Purpose for Reading: Story Map, Pt. 2 | Literacy for Students with Cognitive Disabilities

In this self-contained lower elementary classroom, the teacher reads a book and asks students to identify the story elements, specifically the problem in the story. The teacher uses an anchor chart as a visual aide to support student learning. Students use different modes of communication. While one student is responding orally to the teacher's question, another student is using a communication board to communicate her thoughts with the other adult in the group. The video demonstrates effective strategies for engaging students with disabilities in literacy instruction.

This video is part of the English Language Arts Strategies for Students with Cognitive Disabilities video collection (   • English Language Arts Strategies for ...  ) featuring strategies for comprehensive literacy instruction for students with significant cognitive disabilities.
