Steps to Configure Huawei AR600 Router Using the GUI Setup Wizard
1. Access the Web Interface
Connect your PC to the router using an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.
Open a web browser and enter the router’s IP address (default: 192.168.1.1).
Log in with your credentials:
Default username: admin
Default password: Admin@123 (or as set).
2. Launch the Setup Wizard
After login, the Setup Wizard might automatically open. If not:
Navigate to System Tools - Setup Wizard from the menu.
3. Configure WAN Settings
Select the type of internet connection provided by your ISP:
DHCP (Dynamic IP): Automatically obtain an IP address.
Static IP: Enter the ISP-provided IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS servers.
PPPoE: Input the username and password provided by your ISP.
Click Next to proceed.
4. Configure LAN Settings
Set the LAN IP address (default: 192.168.1.1).
Enable the DHCP Server (recommended):
Configure the start and end IP range.
Set the default gateway (usually the LAN IP).
Specify DNS servers or leave it as automatic.
Click Next.
5. Configure Wireless Settings (If Applicable)
Enable Wi-Fi and set the following:
SSID (Network Name): Choose a name for your Wi-Fi network.
Security Mode: Select WPA2-PSK for better security.
Password: Enter a strong password for your wireless network.
Click Next.
6. Review and Apply Configuration
The wizard will display a summary of the settings.
Confirm everything is correct, then click Finish to apply the configuration.
7. Save the Configuration
Go to System Tools - Save Configuration.
Save the settings to ensure they persist after a reboot.
8. Verify Connectivity
Check the Status page for WAN, LAN, and wireless connection statuses.
Test internet connectivity from a connected device.
