In this look back at the story of Abel (which was filmed in 2011), we see the teenager as he's preparing for his release hearing in front of prison staff. During an interview with Abel as he sat in a holding cell, he told us about what landed him in a maximum-security juvenile prison in the first place. We then look back at Abel's release hearing, and the drama that unfolded as prison staff asked him some hard questions about whether or not he was remorseful for his crimes. At the end of the video we see what happened to Abel after he turned 18 and left juvenile prison behind, and where he is as of 2023.
