Notes on the Sonor AQ2 Safari:
-7-ply maple shells (three plies of Chinese maple enclosed on the outside and the inside by twin plies of Canadian maple)
-Snares, toms and small bass drums (14", 16") have 5.8mm-thick shells
-Complementary lacquered maple bass drum hoops
-Die-cast lugs

We used two AKG C214 microphones as overheads, a Shure SM57 on the snare, and an AKG D12VR on the bass drum.
