孔志軒：赤壁 (台灣首演) / Zhixuan Kong: Red Cliffs (Taiwan Premiere)

東漢末年，群雄割據，戰亂連年。赤壁之戰是三國時期三大戰役之一，爆發於西元208年，孫權、劉備聯軍在長江赤壁一帶大破實力超群的曹操大軍。它是中國古代著名的以少勝多的戰役，也是中國歷史上第一次長江流域大規模江河作戰，奠定了三國鼎立的局面。
樂曲的創作以史實為基礎，融入作者對歷史的理解。運用浪漫主義敘事手法塑造音樂形象，描繪了戰爭場面的殘酷，刻畫了英雄人物的俠骨柔情；以柳琴和樂隊之間融合與對抗的方式實現強烈的戲劇性，使之既具有宏大的氣勢，又展現出背後爾虞我詐的智謀。
全曲分為七個部分：一、〈曹下戰書〉；二、〈孫劉聯盟〉；三、〈初戰三江口〉；四、〈連環計詐降〉；五、〈火燒烏林〉；六、〈敗走華容道〉；尾聲〈三國鼎立〉。

In the final years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, separatist warlords fragmented China, and wars
lingered. The Battle of Chibi (or Red Cliffs), was one of three major conflicts during the era of
the Three Kingdoms. It erupted in 208 AD when the alliance of Sun Quan and Liu Bei eventually
resulted in the defeat of the much stronger Cao Cao army along the Yangtze River in the Chibi
region. This famous ancient battle was also the first large-scale naval war along the Yangtze
River in Chinese history, and caused the division of China into the Three Kingdoms.
This important historical event is the inspiration for Kong’s powerful work for liuqin and Chinese orchestra, "Red Cliffs". The
composer manages to depict the cruelty of war and the courage of the heroes through the
dramatic interaction between the liuqin and the orchestra.
