A judicial inquiry into the deaths of P Jeyaraj and his son J Bennix due to the alleged police torture by at the Sathankulam police station in Thoothukudi, revealed that nearly a dozen of people were beaten up and tortured by the same police officers. Vikatan team travel to Sathankulam and reach out to the family of the victims and spoke to their relatives.
However, Mahendran, the person who died due to the alleged torture, was taken in custody soon after his brother Durai was arrested.Durai’s own younger brother (Mahendran) was beaten to death by the same officers at Sathankulam station says Mahendran's mother.

As same as on February month without any reason Pulingullam church pastor had been arrested and tortured along with eight people had been continuously tortured and beaten up by officers.Here church pastor shares how they have been treated that day.

Regarding this Issue we had a phone conversation with Tuticorin Lok Sabha MP and DMK’s Women’s Wing secretary Kanimozhi.She was among the first of political leaders to travel to Sathankulam and reach out to the family of the victims. She handed over a relief of Rs 25 lakh on behalf of the DMK to the family, and has been vocal about the need for justice in this case.

The government of Tamil Nadu, on Monday, transferred the investigation into the custodial deaths of Jayaraj and Bennix to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
