Rescue Dog Jake Becomes A Firefighter Hero

** OGTV's second GOOD STORY of the week is about the beautiful friendship that was formed between a firefighter and the pup he rescued from a fire and then adopted. **

Friendship is beautiful; but a friendship that is born from a heroic rescue is downright heartwarming. We are in love with this story about Jake, a pitbull mix, and Bill Lindler, a firefighter. Jake was a victim of a house fire but luckily was rescued by Bill and others from the Hanahan, South Carolina Fire Department.

For Bill, there was an immediate connection. "I actually met Jake at a fire when he was a 3 week old puppy." he remembers, "I knew this little guy would need a good little loving home."

After Jake was rescued, he was in rough shape and was taken to a local clinic for treatment. When Bill found out that Jake needed a new home; he volunteered right away. Bill adopted Jake and the two formed an incredible bond. But that's not where Jake's story ends.

Soon after finding his new forever home with Bill, Jake became an official firefighter with help from the Mayor of Hanahan. His fellow fire fighters love Jake. "We can go out on a real bad call and come back and he's there and happy to see us." one of the fellow firefighters says. Jake, you and Bill can come rescue us any day!
