You might have guessed by the similarity, but there’s an Indonesian connection here: Bee and Intan are sisters! So it was really good to meet up and see where she works. This was our first time visiting Mae Fah Luang University. The campus is huge! Accommodation, various sport facilities, a mountainous environment for nice drives, a whole lake. Really amazing. But in this video we really focus on Intan’s first hand experience about working at the university.

Working abroad is a dream for many of us. This video might be really interesting to hear for all of you that are thinking of teaching in Thailand. Or maybe you are looking for job opportunities in Thailand. A lot of foreigners want to work in the land of smiles. Remote working and the digital nomad life are really popular now, but we also still hear from a lot of people wanting to work in education. This is one of the best known ways you can work and live in a tropical country like Thailand. Intan works at the university, but there are many possibilities at various international schools and local schools. Especially as English language teachers.

We have a lot of questions and in this video you get all the answers. We ask Intan these questions:
What brings you to Thailand? How can you get a job as an English teacher in Thailand? Are there certain requirements to be able to apply? How many students are there in the university of Chiang Rai? How many hours per week do you work as a teacher? How much money do you make? Are there many foreign teachers? What are the costs of living in Thailand? What do you pay for food and gas? What’s it like to live in Thailand? How do you experience living in Thailand? How does teaching compare to a corporate job? Are there any downsides to living in Thailand? What's public transportation in Thailand like? Can you get international food? Do you have any tips for people that want to live and work in Thailand? Do you miss your family and friends? And most importantly: are you living the dream?

Also we get to take a look at Intan house. Which was really nice to see. We wish we had a stand alone house and our own car park as well :)
