In 1946, he followed up with "I Tuck My Richard in My Sock," a cheeky, uptempo number that was banned from several radio stations but became an underground sensation. The song, allegedly inspired by a real-life bar bet, cemented Scat’s reputation as the king of the dirty blues, a style that pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable in mainstream music.

Despite his popularity, Scat Williams often found himself in hot water with censors and moral crusaders who sought to silence his suggestive lyrics.
