Colton Winder lives in Utah with his two wives, Tami and Sophie, and their three children. The family believes in plural marriage but it took some time for Sophie and Tami to adjust to life as sisterwives. Sophie told Truly: “The hardest part was realising that Tami and I didn’t know each other very well. We didn’t understand each other's personalities”. Initially this created some tension within the family. Colton said: “There were misunderstandings…sometimes it kind of felt like I was standing in the middle of a tornado”. Communication has been key to the success of this plural marriage, with Colton making time each month to go on dates with both his wives. The family also prioritises spending time with their kids by going to the local farm. Tami told Truly: “Our kids have brought us together, they make us feel like a proper plural family”.
