Making an Archery Shot Trainer

Making an archery shot trainer is a patient project, but it can yield the satisfaction of a personal touch.

I added a thin nail to the top and use the nail head as a pin. I place a target on the wall and practice holding the pin steady on gold.

If you cannot afford to get a compound bow yet, make this, buy a release, and watch training videos. By the time you get a bow, you won't even be a beginner. You could skip right to intermediate with enough practice. Before I bought a guitar, I practiced chords on a wooden stick with fishing line strings. There is something in a subject that you can do for free while you wait to get something that is not.

If you do not want to make a shot trainer, make a paper target, put it on the wall, and practice holding the eraser tip of a pencil steady in the center with your arm outstretched (Got this from John Dudley's Nock On Archery podcast.)
