If you're looking for a strong alternative to the often complicated Whilter opening (11-15, 23-19, 9-14, 22-17, 7-11), then I recommend taking a look at the Whilter-Exchange opening (11-15, 23-19, 7-11, 22-18). This 22-18 move instead of 22-17 cuts down the scope of red's attacks tremendously, and leads to a very even and natural game. I also highlight an instructive late mid-game formation, which requires a number of sacrifices to draw.
