Nau'jour Grainger (b. January 9th, 2000) better known as Toosii or Toosii2x, is a rapper from Syracuse, New York, but moved to Raleigh, North Carolina at the age of 13.

Toosii signed to South Coast Music Group in early 2020, the same label that rose fellow North Carolina rapper DaBaby to prominence. He is known for songs such as Red Lights, Love Cycle, Poetic Pain, and Sapiosexual.

He made a name for himself independently, releasing projects such as Label Me Diverse, Hell on Earth, and Why Not Now all in 2017. In the same year, he flew to LA with little money. During his almost month long stay, he met a record executive but didn’t sign. He then released the mixtapes Who Dat and My Shit Now. After signing to South Coast, he released the mixtape Platinum Heart in February 2020, following it up with Poetic Pain in September.

Toosii doesn’t do many features, but he has collaborated with Lil Poppa, DaBaby, and Summer Walker.

Rodarius Marcell Green (born August 27, 1998), better known as Rod Wave, is a platinum-selling recording artist originally from St. Petersburg, Florida.

Shortly after the release of three albums under the Hunger Games series title, Rod rose to national prominence after dropping “Heart on Ice” in 2019. The track, a single for his album PTSD, peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 with assistance from TikTok and a viral Genius live performance.

Rod continued to garner critical acclaim with the release of Ghetto Gospel in November of 2019 and Pray 4 Love in April of the following year.

In June of 2020, Rod survived potentially life-threatening injuries after crashing into a pole at over 100 miles per hour. Recovering from internal brain bleeding, he reflected on his trauma on the track, “Through the Wire.” Pain, past and present, remains a recurring subject matter in his music.
