07 Mazda 3 Trunk Lid Wiring Harness Water Leak Repair

Back in December 2021, roughly 6 weeks ago from when this video release, I repaired the tail light gaskets of a 2007 Mazda3. I recently checked in on the vehicle to see if the gaskets are holding up, which thankfully they are. However, I noticed two new leaks. One coming from the main trunk lid seal, and the other coming from the wiring harness that connects the wires inside of the trunk to the inside of the trunk lid (the wires/harness is for the third brake lid integrated into the trunk lid). Installing the main trunk lid seal is covered in another video. This video showcases repairing the water coming in from a poor seal around the trunk lid wiring harness connector with some silicone designed for automotive purposes.
Since a brand new grommet cannot be purchased from a local Mazda dealership, only the entire harness which is a few hundred dollars, I opted to try a simple silicone solution instead. This repair is an effort to minimize costs. Should anyone want to try this, please note to use silicone that can adhere to metal.
