Lionel Prewar and Postwar Steam Engine Motor Maintenance

This is part one of a two part maintenance series. Part one covers cleaning and servicing the motor. Part two will discuss the reversing unit (e-unit).
In these videos i am using motors from two prewar 225Es. While your motor may vary slightly, the methods should remain the same.
The purpose of this video is to help you to service your own late-prewar and postwar era locomotives. My methods are my own, learned from various sources, what i show you works for me, but as is the case in many areas, there are bound to be differences of opinion.
Please use this video as a guide and feel free to discuss alternative methods in the comments.
