Alice Springs aka ALICE, is situated roughly in Australia’s geographical centre. It is halfway between Darwin and Adelaide, both 1500km away. It is the gateway to the McDonnell Ranges and the Red Centre. Our time in Alice was made perfect thanks to our wonderful 8-night stay at the Showgrounds Blatherskite Park (Alice Springs Showgrounds), this was a peaceful location that allowed us to slow down and take a much-needed break - a ripper place!!

We dedicated a whole day to exploring the town’s sights which included-

*ANZAC Hill - The most visited landmark in Alice Springs and the ideal spot for a panoramic view of the town and the beautiful surrounding ranges.

*Covid-19 Plane Graveyard – Where billions of dollars worth of passenger jets are waiting out the pandemic at the Alice Springs airport, due to the dry climate which is ideal for preserving them until they’re needed again.

*The Desert Wildlife Park – A must do! The educational facility is a botantical wonderland where you can immerse yourself in the beauty and mystery of Australia’s central desert fauna and flora.
