Why we Exist
REAH’s vision is to build human-machine interaction technologies to facilitate sign language communication, deliver apps to learn sign language and up-to-date daily vocabulary; access a wide range of sign language-related services, and provide open digital platforms for sign language. Over the years REAH has launched platforms that promote everyday communication and quality of life amongst those who need sign language communication services, tools, and systems.

Our journey

2017, Established Future Coding. Continue to build a pipeline of young Deaf ICT professionals (70+) with digital talent and placed them in a position to exhibit their talent in IT coding software development opportunities.

2019, launched the REAH App. REAH means ‘hear’ spelled backward. This app enables South Africans to access South African Sign Language daily use vocabulary.

2020, we unboxed the REAH C9 solution that remotely connects anyone to a digital sign language interpreter through the enablement of wearable technology and app-based facilitation.

2021, piloting REAH xSL pronounces as REAH E-x-c-e-l, an e-learning platform for discovering and learning anything in Sign Language e.g., South African (SASL) and Kenyan (KSL)Sign Languages.
