Описание к видео h- parameters (Hybrid Parameters) Explained | Condition for Reciprocity and Symmetry

In this video, the h- Parameters (hybrid parameters) of the two-port network are explained and the condition of Reciprocity and Symmetry for h parameters are derived.

By watching this video, you will learn the following topics:

0:21 h- Parameters of the Two-Port Network

5:56 The equivalent circuit of the two-port network in terms of the h -parameters

7:27 Condition for Reciprocity for h- Parameters

h- Parameters (Hybrid Parameters) :

In the two-port network, there are four variables. (V1, I1, V2, and I2)
Out of the four variables, the two variables are independent variables while the two variables are dependent variables.
For h- parameters, V1 and I2 are dependent variables, while I1 and V2 are independent variables.

And V1 and I2 can be expressed as
V1 = h11*I1 + h12*V2
I2 = h21*I1 + h22*V2

Where, h11 = V1/I1, when V2 = 0.
h11 is known as short circuit input impedance

h21 = I2/I1, when V2 =0
h21 is known as short circuit forward current gain

h12 = V1/V2, when I1 =0
h12 is known as open circuit reverse voltage gain

h22 = I2/V2,when I1=0
h22 is known as open circuit output admittance

The h-parameters are very useful in determining some of the amplifier characteristics.
(e.g the input/output impedance, and the voltage and current gain of the amplifier.)

The h- parameters are also known as the hybrid parameters because each parameter has a different unit.

In the video, after the discussion of h- parameters, the two-port network is represented by the equivalent circuit in terms of the h-parameters.

What is the Reciprocal Network? Condition for Reciprocity

A Two-Port network is said to be a Reciprocal network if the ratio of excitation at one port to the response at other port is the same if the excitation and the response are interchanged.

Condition for Reciprocity: h12 = - h21

What is the Symmetrical Network? Condition for Symmetry
A Two-Port network is said to be a Symmetrical network, if the ratio of Voltage to the current at one port is same as the ratio of the voltage to the current at the other port, with one of the port open-circuited.

Condition for Symmetry: h11*h22- h12*h21=1
