Molly, Jake, and Uncle David each buy a treasury book of coupons providing $50.00 of materials and services for only $3.98. Molly and the others, except Jake, feel awkward when going into a store to claim a free item from the treasury book without buying something else. Rosie uses a coupon for a free belt, so Molly buys her a new dress at $16.98 to go along with the dress. Molly uses a free coupon for a facial, and she signs up for a half year of treatments. For Jake, Molly gets a pair of free cuff links, and then Molly buys for him six shirts that need cuff links. Uncle David has a coupon for Max Hardware, and he ends up buying 10 pounds of assorted nails for $19.85 and an electrical screwdriver, drill, sander, and polisher all in one. Jake has a coupon to grease the car at Allied Garage, but Sammy has already used a coupon for it. However, when Sammy picks up the car, he admits that he too has spent money on an oil change, a new car battery, and a wheel alignment on the tires for $16.50. To prove the point that you can go and only use the coupon and not spend more, Jake arranges for the family to use a coupon for a family photograph at Acme Photo Studio. They end up having three coupons so, they take one family photo, one of Uncle David, and one of Jake. At the photographer's, Molly and the others plead with Jake to purchase a few copies of the photos to help Mr. Doolittle, the photographer. Jake refuses to be persuaded. Since Molly loves the photos, she decides to call Mr. Doolittle to purchase a dozen of each photo. Mr. Doolittle asks about Jake's purchase of a dozen of his own photograph. Molly then discovers one large photo Jake has brought home and hidden in the closet. In the end, Molly asks Jake to consider buying more photos of himself to have for his New York City office, one for his partner Mendel, one for his aunt Tante Elka, one for his lodge, and one for women's wear.
