New Malones Fishing Kokanee Salmon and Trout Techniques to get fish to the net gear up for big fish

Kokanee Salmon can be a difficult fish to catch especially in the spring. Selecting the right gear and presentation to get these finicky fish to bite is half the battle. Soft mouths and aggressive fighting add to the challenge. We are at New Melones Lake a Reservoir in the Sierra foothills. We found fish but that doesn't mean it's easy to get them into the net.
