This is an original creation designed by Inventure3D.
In order to make your own R2-D2 balloon fly you will need to achieve neutral buoyancy. With high quality helium this balloon can lift about 40 grams at sea level. Higher elevations will need less OR no ballast weight except for the micro drone. For ballast use a small amount of clay in a baggie or something that can easily be removed in small quantities to reduce weight and achieve flight at your altitude.

The micro-drone used in this video weighs about 20 Grams.
NOTE: the rotor blades point down by design. You might be able to use another drone with blades pointing up if you turn each blade over and then point the drone down. But this has not been tested so be careful you don't rip the balloon or you will loos the balloon and helium. A small hole can be patched with clear packing tape.

Attach the drone with 1 inch of double backed sticky Velcro to the bottom of the balloon and top of the drone so it can be removed and recharge the drone.

It's suggested that you fill the balloon at a party store as they have a helium regulator to prevent overfilling and popping. To fill the balloon at a store the Helium should cost about $12. Good luck!
