The incident occurred as Priyanka and her brother were on a bike, trying to avoid a bad patch on the road. The rider lost balance, causing both to fall. While her brother, who was wearing a helmet, sustained minor injuries, Priyanka fell on the other side and was crushed by a passing truck. This incident has once again brought to the forefront the dangerous condition of the city's roads and the failure of civic authorities to prevent such recurring tragedies. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
