According to ESIC’s two new circulars, employers will have to register new employees to ESI within 10 days of joining the company. Failure to do so will make it impossible to add new employees to ESI thereafter. Additionally, employers have to generate the challan and do payments for any contribution period within 42 days of the end of the period. Failure to do so will leave the employee with no ESI contribution.
