Cavan Man's Song

Описание к видео Cavan Man's Song

Now here’s a wee song, that won’t take too long,
About the people I love, and the Town I was born.

I was born in a House at the Foot of the Half Acre,
A place in the town where Folks don’t come any better,
My Mother smiled at me, said you’re welcome my son,
To the town we call Cavan, and your humble home.

‘Twas the 20 th of May in 1944, and the townsfolk looked in,
With friendship at the door, said you’re welcome to Cavan,
We hope you’ll stay long, Live a life with God’s Blessing,
You’re another Cavan son.

All through my childhood I had friends by the score,
And as the years rolled by, they grew more and more,
And when I grew older and settled down in life,
Like most other Cavan men, I found me a wife.

We’re still living in Cavan, with friends all around,
Friends near and far from the County and Town,
So when the Lord calls me, I hope He’ll not forget,
The other people from Cavan, for I love them yet.

So when the Lord calls me, I hope He’ll not forget,
The other people from Cavan, for I love them yet.
