Notes: This song was found in the infamous notebook called 'Majumdar Punthi'. This notebook was retrieved from Subodhchandra Majumdar's family and hence the name. This notebook used to be a constant companion of Rabindranath and he used to scribble down almost every detail of his daily life.
The Sanchari and Abhog sections are seen to have been written prior to the Asthayee and the Antara sections of this song. Not very often we see that. The said notebook also picturizes the process adhered to in the making of this song.

Notes: Composed on 10th July 1893 at Sajadpur. In a letter from Sajadpur Rabindranath has written to Indira Devi at Shimla on 10th of July 1893 -
You must have received my songs. The tune of the song Baro bedonar mato ... is perhaps not a charming one. ... These songs are to be sung in solitude. The tune, I believe, is not particularly a bad one, it doesn't seem to be an exaggeration either to accept it as a nice one. I had entuned it gradually in the bathroom - it is rather advantageous to compose in a bathroom. First of all it is lonesome, secondly free from other responsibilities - it doesn't harm your sense of duty of you keep on murmuring for five minutes after the first splash - the best part of it is that you are free to make faces as there isn't any scope for an audience. The state of mind for better compositions is never easy to reach unless faces are made. It is not all about reasoning - kind of craziness it is. I always sing this song, I had murmured it in the morning for a long time today. This song generates a strong emotional feeling while doing so.

Notes: This song was written after the death of Mrinalini Devi (17th September 1902). Rabindranath was cautiously trying to suppress his expressions for the loss although often we see them to get exposed as it is in the case of this song. This song was also song along with another one while Sukumar Roy was in his death bed.
