Malta George Cross 80th Anniversary Ceremony in Marsa: 1942-2022

The George Cross Ceremony was dramatically brought to life following the parade in the streets of Marsa, which echoed the original procession when the award journeyed through all Maltese towns and villages.

The ceremony and the parade held in towns and villages were different from the presentation done in Valletta on 13th September. The George Cross was brought over by reenactors of Police Constables and an Officer of the Malta Police Force, in full-dress khaki-drill uniforms. They joined the guard of the King's Own Malta Regiment (KOMR) drill team and ARP personnel.

This event was held with the support of the Ministry For The National Heritage, The Arts And The Local Government, Visit Malta, the Association of Maltese Arms Collectors & Shooters, the participation of Marsa Scouts Pipes & Drums, L-Ghaqda Storika u Kulturali Marsa, Socjeta Muzikali Banda Marija Regina Marsa A.D. 1977, and Soċjeta' Mużikali Trinita' Qaddisa Marsa A.D. 1949.
