It's not an adventure unless you hike your bike right? Well, that's our motto anyway.
For us, mountain biking isn't all about bike park shuttles and rolling down machined surfaces.

This was a proper mountain bike ride exploring some new trails (to us at least) and if that involved riding and hiking our bikes over some super technical rocky outcrops, then so be it. There was more riding than hiking anyway, so it wasn't all that bad, but there were lots of technical sections that required a degree of confidence and skill to tackle, as well as lots of flowy single track and super fast fire track.
There may be a few 'no bike' signs posted here and there, but we take those as mere suggestions directed at novice or beginner riders who perhaps wouldn't be able to handle this gnarly terrain.
As a bonus, I was able to Google Street View a lot of it before we rode it, so I know what to expect pretty much anyway.
