Fly tying, Silver Wilkinson shrimp

Описание к видео Fly tying, Silver Wilkinson shrimp

The Silver Wilkinson is a very well known pattern and really comes into its own for grilse and fresh salmon, usually the first fly on my cast when going down a pool in June/July.
This one kind of goes against the grain a little as far as Irish shrimp flies go as it uses hen hackles rather than stiffer cock hackles, a couple of years ago i started using hen hackles on some of the tube flies that i was tying as i wanted a softer more webby fibre for a bit more movement, the tubes worked quite well with hen hackles so i since progresse to using hen on some of my shrimp patterns on doubles, over the next few years i caught enough fish to realise that they didnt really mind wether it was a soft webby hen hackle or the stiffer hackle from the cock bird.
I hope your enjoying my videos and if theres any patterns I can help with jus tfire away in the comments section and i'll see what i can do.
As always, i really would appreciate it if you could hit the subscribe button, its a great way to keep up to date with my latest videos
