What I Learned Completing The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR)

Hello All. In this video I try and answer some questions about riding the GDMBR that have commonly popped up in the comments over the last couple of months, including reflecting on the decisions I made prior to setting off on my trip, what I might change if I did it again, and how much it all cost me.

I find it a bit uncomfortable making a video like this. As anyone who has watched a few of my videos should know, I do not consider myself any sort of authority to give advice on bikepacking. I am new to this, and the GDMBR is really the only proper extended bikepacking trip I have done. However, I thought it was an important video to do, as if nothing else I hope it gets across that if an inexperienced, moderately fit 50-year-old like myself can take on something like this and complete it, then most people can.

This is the second in what I plan to be three post GDMBR videos, with the last being a live stream Q&A that I will be doing at 19:00 BST on Friday 22nd September. Anyone with any questions about the ride, or anything semi-relevant, please feel free to drop in and ask it, or if you cannot make it then leave your question as a comment at the bottom of this video, and I will answer it in the livestream next Friday. It is the first live stream I have done, but I think I should be able to upload the video for anyone to watch after the event.
