Last Ringling Bros Barnum Bailey BIG TOP Circus 1956, Pittsburgh, PA.

In July 1956 The Ringling Bros and Barnum Bailey Circus ended an era with their last performance ever inside a tent. The event took place in Heidelberg PA, just outside Pittsburgh. This clip was shot by an amateur in 8mm as the circus was unloading and setting up. The filming took place on Sunday afternoon, July 15th as the circus set up for a two show performance, ( a matinee and late show) on Monday July 16th. That second show on Monday would be the last ever under the BIG TOP.
