'Little Histon' 00 Gauge Model Railway

Описание к видео 'Little Histon' 00 Gauge Model Railway

"Little Histon" is a 00 gauge layout, which depicts the village of Histon during the 1960s. The location was home to the large Chivers jam factory and a coal merchant named Percy Pegg.

In 2016, the layout was acquired by the village that inspired its creation. Since then, a group of rail enthusiasts, the “Histon & Impington Model rail Group”, has developed and greatly expanded the layout in order to provide the village with a much more representative model of the Histon station area, in its heyday.

Sound equipped and digitally controlled model locomotives representative of those used on our line, from the 1930s to the 1960s, now haul regular passenger and goods trains through an accurate model of Histon station. The intention is to provide regular displays to village audiences as an entertaining way to share an important part of the area's history. Also to provide a focus for villagers interested in the railways and their operation.
