Is this a win? 🤔 
 
Glyphosate, one of the world’s leading pesticides, was patented by Monsanto in 1971 and was introduced to the market in 1974 under the trade name ‘Roundup.’ 
 
Since that time, according to a 2016 report, 19 billion pounds of glyphosate have been used globally 🌎 
 
This has led to 90% of all families had detectable levels of glyphosate in their bodies, according to a 2019 study conducted by the Center for Environmental Health. 
 
What’s more alarming this study found is that children are at extremely more at risk than adults. 
 
Even more recently, in an analysis conducted by the CDC, it was found that out of 650 American children tested 87% had detectable levels in their urine ⚠️ ☠️ 
 
Similar results were found when 1,600 adults were tested. 
 
In 2015, after pouring over close to 1,000 studies, the IARC classified glyphosate as ‘probably carcinogenic to humans’. 
 
After more than 100,000 cancer claims, Bayer, who bought Monsanto in 2018 for $63 million, agreed to pay $11 billion in settlements. And announced in 2021 that they will no longer sell glyphosate for residential use starting this year. 
 
But this will hardly make any type of impact, as this just means you won’t be able to go buy a bottle of Roundup from the local Home Depot. 
 
Nearly all of our exposure comes directly from the food we eat because farmers are still allowed to use it on their crops 🍞🥗🍠🌽 
 
The FDA recently found through their exhaustive testing that many of our foods are contaminated with glyphosate: 
 
🌽 63% of corn-based products contain glyphosate 
🥛67% of soy-based products contain glyphosate  
🥣95% of oat-based foods contain glyphosate 
🍞100% of wheat-based foods contain glyphosate 
 
Honorable mention: nearly all canola fields are sprayed with glyphosate, being Roundup-ready 
 
These tests found these foods to contain up to 150ppm of glyphosate, more than enough to be toxic to humans.
