In response to the need for an affordable and efficient classroom setup, a school in Italy implemented a network solution using Raspberry Pi devices enhanced with ThinLinc software. The installation of a Cendio ThinLinc server drastically improved the speed and capability of the system, allowing the school to operate efficiently at a lower cost: approximately 350 euros per workstation compared to 500 euros for traditional computers. The centralized maintenance has also reduced costs.

The ThinLinc setup allows students to work simultaneously on multiple platforms, using tools like LibreOffice, Google Classroom, Scratch, TinkerCAD and Geogebra. This infrastructure has enabled streaming and the use of modern educational apps, which were previously challenging to run on Raspberry Pi devices. Now, teachers and students enjoy a more responsive and collaborative learning environment, where technology enhances their educational experience.
