Fire Station Staff Reduction Plan

Описание к видео Fire Station Staff Reduction Plan

An Asheville Fire Station could soon have a smaller staff, and one less engine.Asheville Fire Department officials have proposed a reduction of the crew size at Station 10 in west Asheville. Now, the station has a crew of six with a fire engine and ladder truck..That would be reduced to four, and all would be assigned to the ladder truck.Officials say one of the firefighters would become a battalion chief, the other a safety officer. Some residents nearby wonder if the reduction would also reduce the level of fire service.Fire officials say Station 10 would still be able to answer calls in the same amount of time, and safety would not be compromised. If approved, they say the proposal would increase efficiency in the department and reduce maintenance costs by removing the fire engine.
